Some Back-Blogging: Tal's Golden Birthday

We had a magical day on Tal's day this year. It all revolved around food, starting with the smell of crackling bacon. Nothing beats Crab Cooker take out ON Newport beach, the most beautiful day of the year! I am proud to say that Tal's birthday cake did NOT look like gray matter this year (big triumph on my part) nor was it just pretty but basically inedible (still trying to live that down too). It was really, actually, good! And we finished the night with an assortment root-beer, since that's all Tal said he wanted for a present. Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us!

  1. I LOVE that we centered his birthday around meals. It seems like we love to do that, and great ones they were. Love the cake shot, it looks so yummy all melty. I used the extra chocolate on ice cream many more nights after that.

  2. Tal, thanks for sharing your birthday root beer. I feel kind of guilty now, realizing the gift I guzzled was your b-day treat from Johanna, but it was great! I agree, Newport Beach was perfectly beautiful on your special day, and thank you so much for being in California with Jared and me for the celebration. We treasured every moment of your visit here.
